Materuni Waterfalls Day Trip Description

Your day begins with a pickup at your accommodation by one of our knowledgeable English-speaking Rafiki Guides, who will drive you to Materuni Village. The last leg of the journey winds along a small, scenic road through lush forests, setting the tone for your adventure. Upon arrival, you’ll register at the village office before beginning your trek to the waterfall.

The waterfall is approximately 40 minutes on foot from the starting point. This area is not accessible by car, making the walk an exciting and immersive experience. Along the trail, your guide will share fascinating insights into Chagga culture, village life, and the local flora and fauna. On clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of Mount Kilimanjaro’s majestic summit.

At the waterfall, marvel at its sheer height and power. The natural pool at its base offers the perfect spot for a refreshing swim, so don’t forget your swimwear. For the more adventurous, you can get close to the cascading water, feeling the force of the falls up close—a thrilling experience you won’t forget.
