Pierre’s 8-Day Northern Circuit Safari Experience

When Pierre Buet set out on his 8-day Northern Circuit Safari with Serengeti Clarity, he had one wish — to experience the real, untamed Africa. What unfolded was more than just a safari; it was a story of breathtaking landscapes, raw wilderness, and unforgettable encounters guided by one of our best — Calvin, whose deep knowledge and passion for the wild made every moment come alive.

Day 1–2: The Journey Begins in Tarangire National Park

The adventure started in Tarangire National Park, a land of giant baobabs and endless savannahs. Pierre and Calvin set off early in the morning, the golden sun lighting up the horizon as herds of elephants emerged along the Tarangire River. It was here Pierre first felt the rhythm of Africa — the soft rumble of elephants, the rustle of grass under hooves, and the call of distant birds.

As they explored deeper, they came across prides of lions resting in the shade and graceful giraffes browsing the treetops. “Tarangire felt like a dream,” Pierre said. “The elephants were everywhere — big families, mothers and calves, walking so close that you could hear them breathe.”

Day 3–4: Lake Manyara National Park — The Hidden Gem

Next, they journeyed toward Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic paradise known for its tree-climbing lions and shimmering alkaline lake. Pierre was captivated by the contrast — the dense forest at the entrance opening up to vast grasslands filled with flamingos and wildebeests. The reflections of pink and blue across the water felt almost surreal.

Under Calvin’s guidance, they discovered the park’s secrets — playful baboons in the fig trees, herds of zebras near the lake shore, and countless birds painting the skies.

Day 5–6: The Great Serengeti — Ndutu Plains

No journey through the north is complete without the Serengeti National Park, Africa’s most celebrated wilderness. Pierre spent two unforgettable nights in Ndutu, in the southern Serengeti, where the Great Migration was in full motion.

Thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and zebras stretched across the plains — an endless river of life moving in search of fresh grazing. “It was humbling,” Pierre shared, “to see this natural wonder unfold right before my eyes.”

During calving season, life and survival intertwine in dramatic fashion, as predators like lions and cheetahs lurk in the distance. Yet, amidst the chaos, there’s beauty — the miracle of new life on the vast Serengeti plains.

Each evening, back at camp, Pierre would sit by the fire under the starlit sky, listening to the distant roars of lions — a sound that captures the very soul of Africa.

Day 7: The Ngorongoro Crater — Nature’s Grandest Stage

From the endless plains, the journey continued to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world’s most remarkable natural wonders. Descending into the crater, Pierre was met with a sight he would never forget — herds of buffalo, zebras, and elephants moving across the emerald-green floor, while flamingos dotted the lake like pink jewels.

Here, wildlife roams freely in a natural amphitheater of beauty. With Calvin pointing out rare sightings — including rhinos and playful hippos — Pierre experienced one of the richest game-viewing days of his safari.

Day 8: Lake Eyasi — A Cultural Encounter

On the final day, Pierre’s journey took a different turn — from wildlife to culture. At Lake Eyasi, he met the Hadza and Datoga tribes, some of Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. He joined them on a morning hunt, learned about their traditions, and shared laughter by the fire.

It was eye-opening,” Pierre said. “A connection to people who live in harmony with nature — just as it has been for centuries.”

A Journey to Remember

As the sun set on his final evening, Pierre reflected on his 8-day journey through Tanzania — from Tarangire’s elephants to Serengeti’s great herds and Ngorongoro’s timeless beauty.

“This safari was more than a trip,” he said with a smile. “It was a story — one written by nature, guided by Calvin, and crafted perfectly by Serengeti Clarity.”
